This Can Never Get Old

The Dodgers came from behind to win yet again, beating the Pirates 5-4 on Sunday.  Despite a shaky start from Brad Penny and an injury scare to Takashi Saito, the Dodgers righted the ship and came from behind against the struggling Pittsburgh bullpen.  Ae_hr_1 The Dodgers put up 5 runs in the 7th and 8th innnings overcoming a four run deficit.  It was the same old story for the Dodgers...clutch hitting and solid pitching out of the bullpen.  Scary moment when it looked as though Saito was hurt, thankfully, it's not his arm.  Some teams may have been in trouble with their closer unable to go in the 9th after using their setup man in the 8th, but not a problem for the Dodgers.  Joe Beimel came in and got the outs to secure the win.  Not that it's a good thing Saito's hurt, but if he misses some games, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Jonathan Broxton close out a few games.  When I was at the game against the Brewers a few weeks ago, Saito came in to pitch the ninth, and although it was still cool, it was kind of a letdown compared to when Eric Gagne would come in to close games, and Dodger Stadium would go nuts.  If Broxton got the opportunity to close a few games, I'm sure we would definitely see some of the same fireworks.  But, for now we just have to focus on tomorrow.  Another opportunity to take a series and get just a tiny cushion, because now it's a three-way tie for first place.
